Engaging in Career-Long Learning
Certificate of Professional Learning from the Education Students' Association
During my education I have engaged in the practice of seeking, critically reviewing and applying educational research to improve practice. This is demonstrated by my commitment to professional development through the Education Students' Association where I also serve as Vice President Professional Development. I actively choose sessions that contribute to the teaching of my discipline.
I am committed to enhancing my understanding of First Nations, Métis and Inuit worldviews, cultural beliefs, languages and values by furthering my knowledge of Indigenous pedagogies and selecting quality educational resources that are representative of an Indigenous worldview.
Excerpt from Field III Narrative Assessment by my Partner Teacher
I have actively committed myself to the practice of reflecting on my teaching and pursuing professional growth. I do this by
actively seeking out feedback to enhance teaching practice from mentors in the field as shown by the narrative feedback from my partner teacher. I am consistently working towards building my capacity to support student success in inclusive, welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments, and look forward to pursuing this more deeply in Field IV.
