Fostering Effective Relationships

I believe one of my strengths as an educator is my ability to build positive relationships with all the individuals I interact with in the school community. I strive to demonstrate empathy and a genuine caring for all of the students in my classroom. This is evidenced by how I am able to connect with each student individually and identify common interests in order to make them feel valued in my classroom. I act consistently with fairness, respect, and integrity so that all students feel welcomed.

I also work to build friendly and productive relationships with members of the community outside of the classroom and school building. As evidenced by my communications with parents during my Field placements through platforms such as Edsby, as well as my relationship with parents of my tutoring students, I carefully provide culturally appropriate and meaningful opportunities for students and for parents/guardians, as partners in education, to support student learning.
